Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the US. She's worked as an editor since the year 1995. She has been interested in gender issues and feminism since a young age. In 2009, while in university, she created the Feminist Frequency web site. In 2009, the ebullient young lady was harassed online for launching a website featuring a series about gender and videogames. This attack didn't stop her from pursuing the project, and instead it bolstered the determination of feminist media critic. Her numerous contributions to the field of feminists were recognized by a variety of prizes. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning journalist. She also serves as the founder and director of Feminist Frequency a nonprofit educational organization that explores pop culture gender representations.
